Why Murcia is such a hotspot?
The Murcia region, nestled between Alicante and Malaga boasts over 320 days of sunshine a year and an average annual
temperature of 20 degrees. Over the years the region has remained relatively untouched, but it is now quickly becoming
the hotspot of southern Spain. As well as investment potential, Murcia offers a mix of breathtaking countryside,
small historic towns, cosmopolitan culture and idyllic beaches, guaranteed to appeal to everyone.
Last year, tourist numbers were up by 114% in the Murcia region. This figure is expected to increase again
this year as the boom in the lost cost airfares continues to increase. According to the latest EU report, Murcia
has the highest economic growth of all Spanish regions last year at 2.85%, compared with the national rate of 2.19%.
Recent press reports have confirmed Murcia to be the fastest-growing economic region in Europe. In fact, the FTs
European Regions and Cities of the Future 2004/2005 competition found Murcia to have the greatest economic potential.
Surveys by the Advanced Management Services Group predict that there are 800,000 foreigners planning to buy a property in
Spain by 2007, 300,000 of whom will be Britons (36% of all overseas purchasers in Spain).Taken from .
